Modify The HDMI Cable: I cut my hdmi cable down to size to fit my DIY wall brick Apple TV (it works)

► Thanks to channel members for supporting me & making my videos possible!

I honestly expected to damage the cable by mistake while doing this, surprisingly I didn’t… This works as intended!

  1. I did a similar thing with my monitor power cables, the block to plug into the wall was MASSIVE and took up three spaces beside each other on the power strip. So I trimmed the edges back about 1/4” and it didn’t expose any circuits

  2. Why couldn’t you use a slim and short IEC C7 cable instead of Apple’s power-brick-sized chonker of an adapter? That wouldn’t interfere even with the thickest HDMI plug…

  3. I had to do this because I couldn't get an HDMI that fit into the back of my first gaming PC because the top of the IO was blocking every one I tried and I was tired of buying HDMIs just for them not to work

  4. That is what I did. I needed a new power cord to my tv and I had an extra from back in the day but it’s shell was too thick so I got a knife and did the same thing and it worked like a charm
